Thomas,

We have had communications with the company making Arm and Hammer Baking Soda and they assure us that thier product is 100% sodium bicarbonate with no aluminum. This miisconception has been around a long time, and some people confuse baking soda with baking powdfer which has additives in it and in fact used to add aluminum. These are two different products. Arm and Hammer is mining their baking soda from a natural trona mine source... Make sure any baking soda you buy states on the package 100% sodium bicarbonate!

So yes, we have done research on this and feel confident that the byproducts you mention from Alcoa are not being added to Arm and Hammer Baking Soda.

I see that you have said Arm and Hammer is a good product please can you tell us if you have looked into the statement posted earlier claiming that A&H purchases byproduct from Alcoa Aluminum? Thanks for all your kind work.

Hanna,

The natural sodium bicarbonate from mined trona is the best....you are so right to ask because now they are "making " baking soda from the byproducts of scrubbing coal towers!!

Arm and Hammer and Bob's Red Mill are good brands. There may be others out there too.

Hi, I wonder what baking soda is safe. I have understood that there is both pure, natural sodium bicarbonate from a mined source and synthetically produced. Which is the rihgt one to use for medical purposes? Which brands are good?
I found from iherb Frontier Natural Products's baking soda. Are there other god ones?
Wondering what to buy and where. I live in Finland and can use some netshops and local shops.

Allot of the symptoms people are having that they are treating with bicarb are symptoms of systemic candida problems(even cancer)....for people that have external fungal problems you might want to do a candida spit test (google that for explanation) and if results are positive then a internal cleanse might be in order?

Joyce,

Try rinsing your hair after washing with sodium bicarbonate mixed in water. You can also soak your toes in a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water, about 1-2 tsp in a foot bath or pail.

Hi,

I have read that the proper amount of sodium bicarbonate to consume is 0.3 gms per kilogramme of bodyweight. Fine, but how much liquid should accompany that amount of sodium bicarbonate? I don't know if I should mix it with one gallon of water, one liter, one quart, etc?

Thanks.

I have been diagnosed with (A.L.L.) Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia I started to take Arm and Hammer Baking soda. I am taking 1 tsp. in 1 cup of water every two hours and have eliminated most of the symptoms withing 3 days. it has been almost a month now and I feel I am gaining strength. I have fond some warnings about the pancreas if taken high doses to frequently. They told me I have 6 months or less but I feel I will be around much longer. I am not a Dr. and am not recommending this to you , I am only sharing what I am doing.

I found the following information on altmedsales.com:

"A byproduct of Aluminium smelting/processing is Bicarbonate of soda ( baking soda). Do not use baking soda which has had aluminum added to it, such as Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. Today Arm & Hammer company produces almost all the baking soda that is used in the United States. Alcoa sells its Baking Soda byproduct to Arm & Hammer. Buy a product which specifically states it does not include aluminum or other chemicals".

There are a lot of people out there who do believe it has aluminum in it. I really wish it could say "aluminum free" on the box.
